Google has expanded Dreambeans, its experimental AI storytelling app, to India--the first market outside the United States. Available on Android and iOS, the app creates personalized stories based on activity across connected Google services, without requiring users to write prompts.
Dreambeans supports English and 13 Indian languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali. Users can choose one language for their stories, while the app can draw on information from connected services used in multiple languages. It does not yet combine languages within a single story.
Personalized stories, with user controls
The app can use information from services such as Calendar, Gemini, Gmail, Search and YouTube to tailor its content to a person's interests and everyday activities. Users decide which services to connect, can disconnect them at any time and may delete their Dreambeans data through the app.
Google says users can also ask Dreambeans to avoid certain subjects. The service is limited to personal Gmail accounts, and its stories are visible only to the account holder.
Google product manager Gozde Oznur said India was selected for the international rollout following strong user interest and widespread use of Google services in the country. The company is also exploring ways to make the app more actionable, so it could help users follow up on its suggestions.
By bringing personal AI experiences to more languages and markets, Dreambeans signals how everyday digital services may evolve into more tailored, interactive tools.
