Google is expanding Chrome's autofill tools with suggestions drawn from Gmail. For users who have Personal Intelligence enabled, Gemini can find details such as order numbers, shipment tracking information, membership IDs and booking confirmations in email, then offer them when a matching form field is selected.
Suggestions appear in a pop-up marked "Suggested by Gemini." Users can choose to fill the field, check the email associated with a suggestion or dismiss it. Dismissing a suggestion in Chrome does not delete the message from Gmail.
The feature is rolling out first to eligible users in the United States, across desktop and Android and iOS when using Gemini in Chrome. Google says sensitive data is encrypted, and users can manage or switch off enhanced suggestions in Chrome settings.
By bringing relevant details into the form-filling process, the feature could make everyday online tasks faster while giving users control over what they choose to insert.
