Google is expanding Chrome's autofill feature with AI that can suggest information found in a user's Gmail. When completing online forms, Chrome may offer details such as flight confirmation codes, membership IDs, package tracking numbers, order references, addresses, phone numbers, or credit card information.
The feature builds on Google's Personal Intelligence tools, which connect selected Google apps with Gemini to help retrieve relevant information. Users can choose whether to enable enhanced autofill in Chrome's settings. Google says sensitive data is encrypted.
The rollout is starting for users in the United States on desktop Chrome and in the Gemini in Chrome apps for iOS and Android. By bringing relevant details into forms, the feature could make everyday browsing more seamless while making user control over personal data an important part of AI-assisted tools.
