Snapchat has officially announced the launch of its creator subscriptions, starting in alpha phase with a select group of users in the United States as of February 23. This innovative feature allows fans to purchase subscriptions to their favorite creators, including notable figures such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson. Subscribers will gain access to exclusive content, enhancing the connection between creators and their audience.
Creators have the flexibility to determine their own monthly subscription rates, while Snapchat will suggest various pricing tiers. Subscribers will enjoy benefits such as exclusive content, priority responses to public Stories, and an ad-free experience for the creator's Stories.
This initiative marks a significant step in monetization for creators, adding a new revenue stream alongside existing programs like the Unified Monetization Program and the Snap Star Collab Studio. According to Snapchat, Creator Subscriptions aim to deepen the engagement between Snapchatters and creators through Stories, Chat, and replies.
With an impressive 946 million daily active users reported in their Q4 2025 results, Snapchat has seen a remarkable 47% year-over-year increase in U.S. users posting to Spotlight. The company also recently established a new hardware entity called Specs.
Looking ahead, Snapchat plans to extend the creator subscription program to Snap Stars in Canada, the U.K., and France in the near future.
In a competitive landscape, rival company Meta also offers subscription options for creators on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, allowing users access to exclusive content and badges.
