YouTube has introduced a new shopping feature for eligible U.S. creators, allowing them to tag Amazon products directly in Shorts, long-form videos, and livestreams. The update creates a smoother path from product discovery to purchase while opening a new commission-based revenue stream for creators.
With this integration, creators can recommend items from Amazon's catalog without relying on separate affiliate links in video descriptions. YouTube says the platform will offer a curated selection of popular and trending products, and creators can request additional items through YouTube Support if needed.
The system also supports auto-tagging, which can scan recent uploads and identify eligible products automatically. Earnings will appear as a daily total in YouTube Studio, while returned purchases will be deducted from the creator's balance.
Although the feature is currently limited to eligible U.S. creators, tagged products can be viewed globally. In some cases, YouTube may match a product with a local merchant offer so commissions can still apply to international purchases. If no local option is available, viewers are directed to Amazon's U.S. store.
To qualify, creators must be part of YouTube's Partner and Shopping Affiliate programs, hold an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account, and connect it to their channel. The rollout reflects how creator commerce is becoming more integrated, personalized, and scalable across digital platforms. It may shape the future of content-driven shopping and creator earnings.
