Khosla Ventures to Open First New York Office This Fall

Khosla Ventures is preparing to expand beyond its long-time Silicon Valley base with a new New York office, expected to open this fall on 14th Street. The move marks the firm's first location outside Sand Hill Road and signals a broader East Coast presence for the venture investor.

Keith Rabois, speaking at a TechCrunch event in New York, said the office is being designed as more than a traditional workspace. Alongside a small team of investors, it will feature an executive briefing center where portfolio companies can meet with large corporate partners and explore pilots, customers, and strategic collaborations.

Rabois described the format as a practical way to connect startups with major enterprises several days a week. He also noted that the New York market offers strong access to early-career talent, while senior hiring can be more complex for companies that rely on in-office culture.

The expansion comes after Rabois relocated to the East Coast, and it places Khosla Ventures among a growing group of Bay Area firms building a stronger footprint in New York. The timing also aligns with a broader shift in the tech labor map, as companies increasingly compete for talent across both coasts.

If successful, the office could become a model for how venture firms blend investment, talent access, and business development in one place, shaping the next phase of startup growth.
