New York-based Inspired Capital has secured $450 million for its fourth fund, bringing the firm's assets under management to nearly $1.4 billion. Co-founded in 2019 by Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker, the early-stage investor plans to continue backing startups from their earliest stages through Series A.
The firm typically invests in about 10 companies each year, with checks ranging from $1 million to $15 million. Its portfolio is spread across the East Coast, West Coast and other regions, with each coast representing roughly 45% of investments.
Inspired Capital says 12 companies from its first two funds have reached unicorn status, while its portfolio has recorded more than 10 exits. The firm's investment themes include physical AI, quantum computing and creator commerce, alongside a focus on repeat founders.
Rather than concentrating on a single startup hub, the firm sees value in connecting talent and opportunity across both coasts. Its approach reflects a broader venture landscape in which founders can build teams and companies across multiple centers of innovation.
By pairing early-stage investment with a geographically diverse outlook, Inspired Capital's new fund may help more emerging companies access the capital and networks needed to grow.
