Google has expanded Gemini's personalized image generation feature to a wider audience in the United States, making it free for eligible users. The tool, powered by Nano Banana, was previously limited to paid subscribers.
The feature is part of Gemini's Personal Intelligence system, designed to create visuals that reflect a user's interests and preferences. Instead of writing detailed prompts, users can ask Gemini to generate an image based on their style, habits, or favorite themes.
With permission, the system can also draw on connected Google services such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search to shape more tailored results. In some cases, it can even use existing photos stored in Google Photos, reducing the need for manual uploads.
Personal Intelligence remains an opt-in experience, giving users control over which apps Gemini can access. A toggle in the Tools menu also allows the feature to be turned off at any time.
Google has been steadily broadening Gemini's capabilities, adding new tools and interface updates as it builds a more personal AI experience. As adoption grows, this approach could help define a future where creative tools feel increasingly intuitive and individualized.
