Google AI Mode adds flight price tracking, hotel booking, and mileage-based travel planning, turning conversational search into a more practical trip assistant.

Google AI Mode expands into trip planning with flight tracking and hotel booking

Google is turning AI Mode into a more hands-on travel companion, adding tools that help users track flight prices, compare hotel options, and estimate bookings in points or miles.

With the new features, travelers can describe where and when they want to go, and AI Mode will surface current flight options from more than 300 airlines and travel platforms. Users can also ask it to monitor fares and send an email alert when prices change for selected dates and destinations.

The hotel experience is becoming more conversational as well. Users can share trip details and preferences, then receive a curated list of stays with reviews and key booking information. When they find a match, AI Mode can guide them through the next steps, including the Continue on Google flow and payment via Google Pay, while the hotel or booking partner completes the reservation and service support.

Google says flight price tracking is now available in more than 180 countries, while hotel booking is rolling out in the U.S. in English with partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com, and others. The platform also now shows the mileage cost for flights and hotels, making reward-based travel planning easier to compare globally.

This update points to a future where search tools do more than inform--they actively shape a smoother, more personalized travel experience.
