Bluesky is taking a notable step toward richer multimedia sharing by extending its video upload limit to 10 minutes. The platform had previously capped uploads at three minutes, after already raising that limit last year.
Alongside the longer format, Bluesky now supports files up to 300MB and says upload speeds are running 2x to 3x faster. The update brings the service closer to the video expectations set by today's social platforms.
The new limit matches TikTok's 10-minute upload option for videos recorded in the app, while also benefiting other apps built on the AT Protocol, including Bluescreen, Reelo and Skylight. That means the broader ecosystem around Bluesky can now support more flexible storytelling and creator-friendly formats.
As social platforms continue to evolve around video-first habits, Bluesky is positioning itself for broader engagement and more expressive content sharing. The move may help the network strengthen its place in the next generation of social media.
