YouTube Music is preparing two AI-powered features designed to make music and podcast discovery more intuitive: Ask Music and Your Podcast Lineup.
Music discovery through conversation
Ask Music allows listeners to describe what they want to hear in everyday language instead of searching by song title or artist. Users can request a playlist built around a mood, a genre, a creative era, or the influences behind a specific track.
The tool is integrated into YouTube Music's catalog of more than 300 million songs, spanning official releases, live performances, remixes, covers and DJ sets. It can also support deeper exploration by answering questions about a song's creation, contributors or musical background.
A weekly guide to podcasts
Your Podcast Lineup brings a personalized approach to the platform's podcast experience. Each week, the feature will offer a short AI-generated audio introduction to recommended shows, explain why they may suit the listener's interests and guide users toward relevant episodes.
By combining recommendations with spoken context, YouTube Music aims to help audiences navigate an expanding audio landscape without spending as much time searching manually.
Both features are expected to reach YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers worldwide soon. The update signals a future in which streaming platforms may evolve from large media libraries into more conversational, personalized cultural companions.
