Food technology company Wonder has confidentially submitted a draft registration statement for a proposed initial public offering, bringing it closer to entering public markets. The company has not yet disclosed the number of shares it may offer or a potential price range.
Founded in 2018 by entrepreneur Marc Lore, Wonder combines food preparation and delivery with pickup and dine-in services. Its food hall-style locations let customers order from multiple restaurant brands through one platform.
The company has broadened its operations through acquisitions, including meal-kit business Blue Apron, delivery platform Grubhub, food media company Tastemade and kitchen robotics firm Spyce. The robotics technology could support more automated food preparation, while Wonder Create uses AI to help develop restaurant concepts and menus.
Wonder is also pursuing geographic and institutional growth. It plans to open more than 100 locations in Texas by the end of 2027 and has partnered with DoorDash on a $425 million campus dining initiative serving 450 colleges, universities and other locations. A recent funding round valued Wonder at about $9 billion.
The proposed IPO would mark a new stage for a business spanning food service, technology and restaurant development. Its progress could offer a glimpse into how integrated platforms and automation may shape the future of dining.
