DoorDash and food technology company Wonder have announced a strategic partnership valued at $425 million, combining campus dining services with investment to accelerate next-generation meal delivery.
Under the agreement, DoorDash will acquire Wonder's Grubhub Campus Dining operation for $300 million. The service, previously known as Tapingo, currently operates across 450 colleges and universities. DoorDash plans to broaden the platform's reach to locations such as stadiums, hotels and other high-traffic venues.
DoorDash will also invest $125 million in Wonder's recently announced $650 million Series D funding round. The move supports Wonder's ambition to build an integrated food ecosystem that brings together meal planning, production and delivery in a more personalized format.
A growing multi-brand food platform
Founded by entrepreneur Marc Lore, Wonder operates delivery-focused food halls where customers can order from multiple restaurant concepts in a single transaction. Its portfolio includes Grubhub, Blue Apron, Tastemade and several New York-based restaurant brands.
Wonder says it has expanded to 157 locations, more than quadrupling its footprint since the beginning of 2025. The company is also preparing to enter Texas in early 2027, extending its presence beyond the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
For DoorDash, the partnership adds a specialized campus dining network to its marketplace while creating opportunities to simplify ordering and operations for universities. For Wonder, the investment provides additional momentum for its vision of serving meals across more occasions, formats and locations.
This collaboration signals how digital platforms, food brands and automated operations may increasingly converge to create more flexible, personalized everyday dining experiences.
