Delivery Hero's supervisory and management boards have endorsed Uber's $15 billion takeover proposal, urging shareholders to back a transaction that could reshape the global food delivery market.
In their assessment, the boards said the offer reflects a fair valuation and aligns with the long-term interests of the company and its stakeholders. They also noted that the combination could speed up product innovation across the platform.
If completed, the deal would significantly expand Uber's delivery reach and strengthen its position in key international markets. It would also deepen competition in a sector where scale, logistics, and technology are becoming decisive advantages.
Uber, already Delivery Hero's largest shareholder, has set a minimum acceptance level of 50% plus one share. Another major investor, Prosus, has also agreed to sell its 17% stake, adding momentum to the transaction.
The move comes amid a broader wave of consolidation in on-demand delivery, as leading platforms seek larger networks and stronger operational efficiency. In that context, the proposed tie-up stands out as a strategic step toward a more connected and technology-driven delivery ecosystem. Its impact could help define the next phase of global convenience services.
