TikTok is reshaping its comment experience with a set of new interactive tools designed to make conversations feel more dynamic. The platform is introducing voice comments, comment polls, photo carousel comments and Live Photo comments as part of a broader engagement push.
With voice comments, users can tap a microphone icon in the comment box and record an audio message of up to one minute. The feature is now rolling out worldwide to users aged 18 and over, adding a more personal layer to replies under videos.
TikTok says these audio posts follow the same Community Guidelines as other content. The company combines human review with automated systems, including speech-to-text transcription, to help manage policy compliance.
Creators are also gaining wider access to comment polls on their own videos. They can offer up to five choices, set a voting window, and track results directly in the comment thread. TikTok says the feature can support everything from content planning to everyday decisions such as outfit or recipe ideas.
On the visual side, photo carousel comments now allow up to nine images in a single post, while Live Photo comments add a short motion preview before the full image opens. Live Photo comments are available globally, and photo carousel comments are rolling out over the next month.
By turning comments into a richer interaction space, TikTok is moving closer to a more expressive social layer where audio, images and quick voting work together. The next phase of social platforms may be shaped by this kind of multi-format conversation.
