Strava is expanding beyond its well-known running, cycling and swimming tools with guided strength workouts built into the app. The new feature leads users through exercises with animated demonstrations, while letting them record sets and repetitions as they train.
A beginner-friendly way to get started
Each exercise includes form tips and information about the muscles it works. When a session ends, its details are saved automatically in the Workout Log, and a muscle map offers a quick overview of which areas were trained.
The first workout is designed for beginners and requires no equipment, making it accessible at home or without a gym membership. Its straightforward interface and exercise graphics make movements easy to follow. Some written instructions may be cut off, and clearer prompts to switch sides could make the experience even easier for newcomers.
More ways to train are planned
Strava says additional workout series are expected before the end of the year. Planned updates include importing sets and repetitions from screenshots, creating custom sessions and expanding integrations with other training services.
Subscribers will receive the feature over the coming weeks, while free users can try a sample workout. As Strava adds more variety and customization, guided strength training could become a more integrated part of everyday fitness routines.
