Plaud's AI Notetakers Pass 2 Million Units as Software Revenue Tops $100 Million ARR

Plaud, the AI hardware startup focused on meeting productivity, says it has now shipped more than 2 million devices and crossed $100 million in annualized software revenue. The milestone highlights growing demand for tools that blend physical devices with intelligent transcription and summarization.

The company's lineup includes screenless wearables and phone-backed accessories designed to capture conversations in real time. Instead of relying on typed prompts or manual note-taking, Plaud positions its products as a bridge between live discussion and structured follow-up, delivering summaries, key points, and action items after meetings.

Founder and CEO Nathan Xu says the company is building for a "post-screen" workflow, where meaningful collaboration happens away from keyboards. Plaud's recent product push includes the Plaud Pro, the Plaud Pin S, a desktop app that records meeting audio through system sound, and Plaud Teams, a shared-memory tool aimed at organizations.

The business model combines hardware sales with subscription upgrades. Users receive 300 minutes of transcription at no cost, while heavier usage unlocks paid monthly, annual, or add-on plans. Plaud says nearly half of device owners move from the basic tier to higher-value subscriptions, helping drive recurring revenue.

Competition in the AI note-taking category is expanding, but Plaud's latest figures suggest that specialized hardware paired with software services can still carve out a strong position in the market. As AI moves closer to everyday workflows, this model could shape the next wave of workplace tools.
