October's U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings point to a busy period for venture capital, with established firms seeking fresh funds across artificial intelligence, deep tech and other specialized areas.
Trust Ventures and Interlagos Capital each filed to raise $400 million funds. Diffusion ONE, the new AI-focused firm founded by former Benchmark investors Victor Lazarte and Kris Fredrickson, reported raising $1.252 billion--well above its original $800 million target.
Benchmark filings outline four partner-only funds seeking a combined $364 million. Jack Altman is listed in each filing. Meanwhile, 8VC has filed for several new vehicles, including 8VC DSS III, targeting $400 million, and 8VC AI Fund XI, which has already raised $13.5 million.
Other filings include new funds from Notable Capital and Greenoaks. Industry Ventures has raised at least $1.7 billion for a secondaries fund, reflecting the growing role of transactions that let investors buy stakes in private companies.
Together, the filings show capital flowing toward specialized strategies and private-market opportunities. Their progress may help shape how emerging technology companies are funded in the years ahead.
