Startup Nirva has secured a new $25 million pre-Series A investment, bringing its total funding to $33 million. The company is developing an AI-powered pendant designed to focus on its wearer's speech and turn everyday conversations into personal insights.
Founded in 2025 by former Meta Reality Labs employees Wei Lyu and Jason Chen, alongside fashion and jewelry entrepreneur Hanying Hu, Nirva is positioning its first device as a piece of wearable jewelry rather than a traditional voice recorder.
The pendant can also be worn as a bracelet. At about eight grams, it is designed for all-day use and can run for up to three days on a charge. Nirva says it uses voice samples provided during setup to distinguish the wearer's speech from other voices nearby. Audio and transcripts are not retained after processing by default.
Its companion app offers users observations about communication habits and emotional patterns, along with reminders and suggested action items. Nirva describes the product as a tool for self-understanding and awareness, rather than simply a productivity aid.
The $249 device will be offered in silver, brushed silver, black and gold. Nirva plans to begin taking orders in November, with initial deliveries targeted for the end of the year.
As AI becomes part of more personal devices, products like Nirva's may help shape a future where wearable technology offers useful reflection while fitting naturally into everyday life.
