Ninja's Crispi Microwave brings microwave cooking and air frying together in a single appliance, designed to make everyday meals faster while delivering a crisp finish. The company says its FusionCrisp system pairs a 1,000-watt microwave with a 1,700-watt air fryer.
The combination aims to tackle a familiar kitchen challenge: reheating food quickly without leaving it soft or soggy. Items such as pizza, fries and chicken tenders can be warmed while retaining a crisp exterior. The appliance can also combine cooking methods in one dish, such as heating pasta in the microwave and crisping its topping with the air fryer.
One cooking space, two methods
The unit includes a 5.5-quart glass dish and a nonstick crisper plate for air-frying. Its interior has no rotating turntable, leaving more room to arrange food. At $449.99, it is positioned as a premium option for households that regularly use both types of appliance.
Its footprint--20.3 by 17.56 by 14.1 inches--means it may not suit every small kitchen. While combining two functions could free up counter space for some households, the appliance itself is not especially compact.
As kitchen devices continue to combine cooking methods, products like this could help make meal preparation more flexible, provided their size and price fit the home.
