Meta has introduced Muse, a personal AI agent designed to help users handle everyday digital tasks more efficiently in the United States. The system connects with tools people already use, including email, calendars, payments, shopping, music, dining, fitness, and smart home services.
Unlike chatbots that mainly answer questions, Muse is built to take action. Meta says it can draft emails, organize travel, manage bills, complete forms, build plans, turn recipe ideas into shopping lists, send invitations, and even support purchases through Link by Stripe. The company also says more integrations, including Shopify's Shop Pay and 1Password, are on the way.
Users choose which apps to connect one by one, making the setup more transparent. Muse is powered by Meta's Muse Spark model and can connect through built-in services, public APIs, or a browser-based workflow when needed. It will launch on the web, iOS, Android, and WhatsApp, with support planned for Meta's AI glasses.
The service will start free, while heavier use will move into paid tiers. Meta says most people will remain on the free plan, but two subscriptions are available at launch: Power at $20 per month and Maximum at $100 per month.
Meta says Muse runs inside a dedicated secure environment and does not expose passwords or payment details to the agent. The company also states that conversations are not shared with its ads systems. Users can personalize the assistant with a name, avatar, and communication style, aiming to make the experience feel more natural and intuitive.
As AI agents move closer to daily life, Muse signals a future where digital assistants may become active partners in personal productivity and connected living.
