Meta has acquired Conductor, a startup developing tools that coordinate AI agents across parallel workspaces to help build software projects. The company's founder and CEO, Charlie Holtz, announced the deal and said the team is planning a new product experience for early next year.
Founded in 2024, Conductor lets developers assign different parts of a project to AI agents that can work together. The agents can run in the cloud, on local devices or through a phone, and use models developed by AI companies including Anthropic and OpenAI.
Conductor says its core features will continue operating as before until early next year. Its cloud service is scheduled to close on November 20, after which cloud-stored user data will be deleted.
The acquisition adds to Meta's growing work in AI software tools, alongside its Muse Code coding agent. Bringing Conductor's approach into Meta could help shape new ways for developers to collaborate with AI agents.
