Apple's iOS 27.2 update brings new language options and conversation memory to Siri, alongside features for FaceTime, Messages and other apps. The release also includes more than 160 security fixes.
Siri's beta language support now includes French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The assistant can recall details from earlier conversations and draw on information from apps such as Messages, Calendar and Safari. Users can choose which apps Siri should leave out of its memory.
The update adds Apple Pencil support in Notes and Preview on the foldable iPhone Duo, as well as an Edge Light effect for video calls. FaceTime gains a Dual Capture option that uses the front and rear cameras at once, plus support for adding a sign-language interpreter or live captioner to a call.
Other changes include suggestions for turning messages into reminders or calendar events, new Shared Albums editing tools, and a Podcast app view for new and in-progress episodes. Apple TV's Multiview feature also comes to iPhone, letting viewers follow up to four live sports streams at the same time.
By combining more flexible assistance with accessibility and viewing features, iOS 27.2 points toward a more personalised and capable mobile experience.
