Hinge is testing a more affordable subscription tier, adding another option for users seeking greater control over their dating-app experience. The plan is designed to appeal to women and people who are mindful of price, Match Group CFO Steve Bailey said during the company's third-quarter 2026 earnings call.
The test subscription will include additional filters and custom location boundaries. Match Group has not announced its price.
The move comes as Hinge continues to grow. In the third quarter, the app's global monthly active users rose 12% year over year, while direct revenue increased 19%. Its paying user base grew 23% to 2.3 million, generating $221 million in direct revenue.
Match Group is also exploring new ways for people to connect beyond one-to-one matching, including group meetups and events. The company plans to expand these efforts, while Tinder is preparing to test recommendations that adapt to users' actions in real time.
If the lower-priced tier gains traction, it could help make premium features accessible to more users. Flexible pricing and varied ways to meet may increasingly shape how dating platforms fit into people's everyday lives.
