Google is expanding its creative toolkit with Google Pics, a new image generation and editing feature designed for business users and premium AI subscribers. Built on the company's Nano Banana model, the tool will arrive over the coming weeks for most Google Workspace customers as well as Google AI Pro and Ultra users.
Positioned as a modern alternative for everyday visual tasks, Google Pics is aimed at creating posters, social media graphics, and other workplace-ready visuals with simple prompts. The approach reflects a growing shift in digital design: instead of building every element manually, users can describe what they want and let AI generate the first version.
The platform also includes editing options that let users isolate objects, transform elements in an image, and adjust or translate text inside visuals. Another notable feature is collaborative editing, which makes it easier for teams to refine ideas together and compare several generated versions before choosing the best result.
Google says the feature will be integrated directly into Docs and Slides first, with Drive support planned later. By placing image creation inside familiar Workspace apps, the company is turning routine productivity software into a more flexible creative environment.
As AI becomes part of everyday work tools, features like Google Pics could help make visual creation faster, more accessible, and increasingly integrated into the future of digital collaboration.
