The facility has not been officially confirmed in the footage, but it appears to match CoreSite's DE3 site in Denver. CoreSite describes the building as a multi-tenant data center that supports cloud services and AI inference workloads. The project is part of a broader wave of infrastructure built to power the online services and computing systems that shape modern life.

Why Water Matters

Denver Water's Stage 1 drought rules ask the utility's 1.5 million customers to reduce use by at least 20%. Commercial properties may water on Tuesdays and Fridays, outside the hottest hours of the day, while some exceptions can apply through approved budgets or recycled-water systems. The city's restrictions reflect an unusually dry year, with streamflow into reservoirs far below normal and storage levels trailing historical averages.

The larger question is not just one lawn, but the growing footprint of data infrastructure. Cooling systems for these facilities often rely on water, especially where servers generate constant heat. CoreSite has said its planned Denver campus could eventually require significant water for cooling, though the current building is not necessarily operating at that maximum level.

Denver has already placed a one-year pause on new data center construction while officials review rules on water, energy, and land use. Existing projects continue, but the conversation is shifting toward smarter design, recycled-water solutions, and more efficient cooling technologies.

As digital demand expands, cities may increasingly balance innovation with resource stewardship, shaping a future where computing growth and sustainability move forward together.
