Apple's latest hardware wave
Apple introduced a fresh lineup at its fall event, led by the company's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. The presentation also included the iPhone 18 Pro series, updated Apple Watch models, new AirPods, and a redesigned Health app built around Apple Intelligence.
iPhone Duo: Apple enters the foldable era
The iPhone Duo unfolds into a 7.6-inch Retina display, while the outer screen measures 5.4 inches. Apple says the device was shaped by the flexibility of iPad-style use, and its inner panel includes an under-display camera for a cleaner full-screen experience. The phone offers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display.
Its camera system pairs a 48-megapixel main sensor with a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens and 2x optical zoom. The hinge uses Grade 5 aluminum and more than 100 precision-built components. Pricing starts at $1,999, with pre-orders opening October 16 and in-store availability set for October 23.
iPhone 18 Pro gets a camera-focused upgrade
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max keep a familiar design, but Apple has focused on imaging. A new 48-megapixel sensor with a variable aperture aims to improve low-light performance and shooting speed. The camera software adds advanced controls for white balance, shutter speed, aperture, histogram tools, and more customizable photographic styles.
Both models can record 4K video in Dolby HDR Vision and apply cinematic effects after capture. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max begins at $1,299. Pre-orders open Saturday, and availability begins September 18.
Apple Watch and AirPods gain smarter features
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 bring major software upgrades, including Sound Recognition for alerts such as sirens, alarms, doorbells, and baby crying. New Audio Intelligence tools also add Live Rewind and Siri Recap, designed to help users revisit recent conversations and key moments. The Series 12 starts at $399, and the Ultra 4 at $499.
AirPods 5 improve audio quality, active noise cancellation, and transparency mode. Apple says background noise reduction is now 50% stronger than before, and volume control on the stem expands convenience. Pricing starts at $129, or $149 with a Wireless Charging Case.
Health app gets a smarter layer
Apple also unveiled a redesigned Health app that uses Apple Intelligence to organize data more clearly. New sections include an Insights tab, a Readiness score, a Health Age estimate, and a Longevity tab that draws from Apple Watch and iPhone metrics. The update begins rolling out later this year in U.S. English.
With foldables, smarter wearables, and health-focused software moving in parallel, Apple is shaping a future where devices feel more adaptive, personal, and seamlessly connected to everyday life.
