Amazon Prime members in the United States will be able to order restaurant meals from Uber Eats through Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping app, under a new partnership between the companies.
Members will not need an Uber account, and delivery fees will be waived on orders over $25. For the first two weeks, Amazon and Uber are also offering Prime members $20 off their first order of $25 or more.
The agreement replaces Amazon's previous restaurant-delivery partnership with Grubhub, which provided Prime members with access to Grubhub+. That arrangement has now ended.
The deal adds to Amazon and Uber's existing business ties, which include cloud computing, Zoox robotaxis and Uber Eats integration with Amazon's Alexa+ assistant.
Bringing food delivery into Amazon's shopping ecosystem could make Prime more useful for everyday purchases and create a more connected ordering experience.
