Readers who miss the feel of dedicated page-turn buttons can now add them to select Kindle models. Amazon's new Kindle Page-Turn Cover connects to compatible devices and lets readers advance or go back a page with a physical button press.

The cover is designed for the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. It attaches magnetically and connects through built-in contact points, pairing with the e-reader when fitted. Its two buttons are assigned to forward and backward page turns by default, and readers can switch their functions in device settings. Other navigation, including browsing the library and menus, remains touchscreen-based.

Made with plant-based leather, the accessory has a magnetic front flap and a textured side panel containing the buttons. It comes in Graphite, Fig and Seaglass Green. The layout also supports left-handed use: rotating the Kindle changes the screen orientation while the buttons remain available.

Amazon lists the cover at $79.99. Because it works only with the two Signature Edition models, the least expensive compatible setup starts at about $330. The button functions are limited to turning one page at a time, though page changes may feel quicker than using the touchscreen.

For readers who value tactile controls, the cover offers a way to bring a familiar feature back without changing the e-reader itself. As accessories evolve, customizable controls could give readers more ways to shape how they interact with digital books.
