AI voice startup Wispr has closed a $280 million Series B round at a $2 billion valuation, with Menlo Ventures leading the investment. The company says the new capital will support its move beyond dictation and into broader productivity tools.
Wispr has now raised $361 million in total, reflecting strong investor confidence in voice-first software. Alongside its core dictation product, the company is pushing into meeting notes with a newly launched note-taker designed to capture summaries and action items more efficiently.
The latest round also included support from returning backers such as NEA, Neo Ventures, 8VC, MVP Ventures, and Notable Capital, while new investors included Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater, Peak XV, Together Fund, and PLUS Capital.
At the product level, Wispr is introducing Canto, a new model aimed at improving speech understanding and lowering error rates from 30% to under 10%. The company is also expanding its reach through Android availability, international growth in markets like India and the U.K., and partnerships with hardware makers for more discreet voice input.
With its new Interface Labs initiative, Wispr is also exploring fresh ways for people to interact with computers through voice. If these efforts scale, voice-driven computing could become a more natural layer of everyday digital work.
