Wabi, an AI startup founded by Eugenia Kuyda, has raised $55 million in a funding round that values the company at $1.25 billion. IVP led the round, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund, among others.
The company is reshaping its product around a personal AI agent. Rather than simply responding to prompts, Wabi aims to create custom mini apps that help users handle practical tasks, from planning meals and fitness routines to discovering local restaurants and organizing date nights.
Wabi first focused on letting people build apps with natural-language prompts before shifting toward a messaging experience. Its latest vision brings those ideas together: an AI assistant that can create tailored interfaces and tools as needs arise.
If the approach gains traction, Wabi could point toward a future where people build lightweight, personalized software through conversation instead of relying solely on pre-made apps.
