Sundar Pichai Receives $692 Million Compensation Package from Google

Sundar Pichai's new $692 million compensation package from Google highlights a performance-driven approach, contrasting with the public focus on co-founders Page and Brin's real estate moves.

Sundar Pichai Receives $692 Million Compensation Package from Google

Sundar Pichai has been awarded a remarkable compensation package potentially valued at $692 million. According to a recent filing, Alphabet has structured a three-year agreement for its CEO that positions him among the highest-paid executives globally. Notably, a significant portion of this package is performance-based, including new stock incentives linked to Waymo and Wing, Google's drone delivery service.

Interestingly, Pichai garners less public attention compared to Google's co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The duo, who rank among the wealthiest individuals worldwide, have recently made headlines for their real estate investments in Miami. This move is perceived as a reaction to California's proposed Billionaire Tax Act, which aims to impose a one-time 5% tax on net worth exceeding $1 billion. Page has reportedly invested over $173 million in two properties in Coconut Grove, while Brin has been associated with a $51 million mansion just 14 miles away, following earlier acquisitions totaling $92 million.

In contrast, Pichai maintains a more understated presence, residing in Los Altos, California. Despite his low profile, he is also a billionaire, benefiting from the nearly sevenfold increase in Google's market capitalization since he took the reins in 2015. His and his wife's stock holdings are estimated to be worth nearly $500 million, with an additional $650 million reportedly sold as of last summer, according to Bloomberg's analysis.
