Google Gemini App Passes 1 Billion Monthly Users

Google's Gemini app has crossed 1 billion monthly users, marking a major AI milestone as Google expands voice, image and coding features across its ecosystem.

Google Gemini App Passes 1 Billion Monthly Users

Google has reached a major AI milestone as the Gemini app surpassed 1 billion monthly active users, according to CEO Sundar Pichai. The figure makes Gemini one of the company's fastest-scaling products and its 14th service to cross the billion-user threshold.

The growth places Gemini alongside the broader momentum of generative AI, with Google steadily weaving the assistant into Search, Workspace, Android and its standalone app. The milestone, however, refers only to the Gemini app itself and does not include users reached through other Google AI experiences.

Google also highlighted continued product expansion, including Gemini 3.5 Flash, a model aimed at stronger coding support and more capable AI-agent tasks. On the usage side, the company said 63% of Gemini users interact through voice, while the app now creates more than 150 million images each day.

Beyond Google's own ecosystem, Gemini has also built a sizable audience on iOS, where it now counts over 100 million active users. The timing adds fresh momentum ahead of Google's upcoming Made by Google event, where more Gemini-powered features are expected across Pixel devices.

With its rapid adoption and expanding capabilities, Gemini is emerging as a defining platform in the next phase of everyday AI, shaping how people search, create and work in the years ahead.
