Jayesh Govindarajan, executive vice president at Salesforce AI, highlighted the value of this collaborative approach, stating, "The 18,000 customers are a wellspring of information needed for customer success." He noted that this ongoing dialogue allows Salesforce to refine its AI offerings and adapt as technology advances.

Salesforce has been at the forefront of AI innovation, launching products like Agentforce to manage AI agents even before the term became widely recognized. The company continues to enhance its offerings in voice AI and integrations with platforms like Slack, driven by customer insights.

The dynamic between Salesforce and its customers fosters a rapid development cycle. When companies express interest in utilizing large language models (LLMs), Salesforce ensures they have the necessary technology to implement these solutions effectively. This proactive approach has led to the development of a bottom-up strategy, focusing on themes such as agent context and observability, rather than rigid product timelines.

Govindarajan emphasized that the innovations stemming from this collaboration are direct responses to real-world challenges faced by customers. By classifying these challenges, Salesforce can determine which can be addressed through LLMs and which require additional systems to support them.

For instance, Engine, a travel management platform, benefits from weekly meetings with Salesforce, gaining early access to AI tools. This partnership allows Engine to influence product development, as seen when feedback on an AI voice agent led to significant improvements.

Similarly, PenFed, a federal credit union, streamlined its technology stack by collaborating closely with Salesforce, demonstrating the mutual benefits of such partnerships. Shree Reddy, PenFed's chief innovation officer, noted that their relationship has led to valuable insights and innovations that enhance service delivery.

Salesforce's internal strategy aligns with its external approach, as employees are encouraged to be the primary users of its AI tools. This adaptability has been crucial in navigating the fast-paced changes in technology, allowing Salesforce to respond effectively to customer needs and industry trends.
