Listen Labs, Salesforce Talks Put AI Research Startup in the Spotlight

AI-powered market research startup Listen Labs has drawn attention after reportedly signing a term sheet for a $125 million Series C round at a $1.5 billion valuation, only for the deal to remain unfinished as acquisition discussions emerged.

According to people familiar with the matter, the company stepped away from the signed financing as Salesforce explored a possible purchase valued at roughly $2 billion. The talks are still ongoing and no final agreement has been announced.

Founded in 2023 by Florian Jüngermann and Alfred Wahlforss, Listen Labs uses voice AI to create survey questions, conduct interviews, and turn responses into reports and presentations. The platform is designed to help companies understand customer needs faster and at lower cost than traditional research methods.

The startup says its tools are used by major brands including Microsoft, Canva, Anthropic, and Sweetgreen. Its annualized revenue is estimated at about $30 million, placing it among the most visible players in the fast-expanding AI customer research market.

Listen Labs previously raised a $69 million Series B in January at a $500 million valuation. If the Salesforce discussions do not move forward, investors expect the company to return to the market with a valuation target of $2 billion or more.

As AI reshapes how businesses gather insight, platforms like Listen Labs could help make customer research faster, more adaptive, and more central to product innovation.
