OpenAI Expands ChatGPT With Collaborative Workspace Tools

OpenAI expands ChatGPT with shared Spaces, AI-assisted Pages and collaborative slides, bringing documents, research and team workflows into one platform.

OpenAI Expands ChatGPT With Collaborative Workspace Tools

OpenAI has introduced a new set of ChatGPT features designed to bring writing, research, planning and team collaboration into one AI-powered environment.

Shared workspaces for teams and AI agents

Announced at OpenAI's DevDay event in San Francisco, the new Space feature creates shared work areas where colleagues can work alongside ChatGPT and task-focused AI agent personas known as Dots.

Within a Space, teams can keep pages and files together while assigning practical instructions to AI agents. For example, an agent can review a team channel, identify relevant updates and refresh a working document with the latest information.

Pages and collaborative slides

OpenAI also introduced Pages, a document format built for collaboration between people and AI. Users can draft content, conduct research, generate charts, create visuals and organize information within the same workspace.

The company's new collaborative slides feature brings presentation creation into ChatGPT. Teams can generate slides through conversational prompts, then edit, comment on and develop presentations together with AI support.

These additions position ChatGPT as a more integrated productivity platform, combining conversational AI with shared documents, project materials and presentation tools. The shift reflects a broader move toward software environments where AI can actively contribute to everyday workflows rather than simply respond to individual requests.

As AI becomes more embedded in workplace tools, collaborative systems like these could help shape a future where teams spend more time on ideas, decisions and creative problem-solving.
