Italian photographer Luca Battaglia transforms familiar fairground scenes into dreamlike visual studies in his ongoing series Ticket non remboursable. Working across European cities, he captures carousels in public squares and parks as they spin through time, light, and memory.
Rather than presenting the rides as simple attractions, Battaglia frames them as symbols of childhood, movement, and the changing life of urban spaces. His long-exposure method softens the structures into glowing arcs and layered motion, allowing color and rhythm to replace fixed detail.
Using neutral density filters and exposure times of around 20 to 30 seconds, he lets each carousel trace luminous patterns across the frame.
