JW Anderson and Cerith Wyn Evans Create a Frieze Week Art Encounter in London

JW Anderson will welcome Frieze Week visitors to its Pimlico Road store in London with "A Composition", a new exhibition developed with artist Cerith Wyn Evans. Running from October 15 to 21, the project brings fashion, contemporary art and design into a shared creative setting.

For the exhibition, Wyn Evans has produced 30 bespoke wind chimes, conceived specifically for the JW Anderson space. The installation will appear alongside a carefully selected group of artworks, creating a dialogue between sound, material and craftsmanship.

A meeting point for fashion and contemporary art

The presentation includes ceramics by Akiko Hirai, paintings by Mary Stephenson and sculptures by Shawanda Corbett. Together, the works reflect JW Anderson's ongoing interest in connecting emerging perspectives and established artistic practices.

In partnership with American Express, the programme will begin on October 14 during Frieze Week's VIP opening. Selected Platinum Card members will receive early exhibition access, guided experiences and opportunities to join conversations with Jonathan Anderson and his creative collaborators.

An evening panel featuring Anderson and Wyn Evans, moderated by art historian Dr. James Fox, will explore the ideas behind the project. A reception at the store will extend the exhibition into a space for exchange among artists, designers and cultural audiences.

By turning a retail environment into an evolving art platform, "A Composition" signals how fashion spaces can increasingly support cross-disciplinary creativity and more direct encounters with contemporary culture.
