Google is expanding its experimental AI assistant CC into a shared household coordination tool designed to help families manage everyday plans, tasks and communications.
Originally developed as a personal productivity agent, CC can work across Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive and task tools to prepare daily summaries. Its new family-focused version aims to bring school schedules, appointments, activities, meal planning and household to-dos into one collaborative workflow.
A shared assistant for daily life
Each CC group can include up to six family members. The agent receives its own Google account and operates with separate permissions, allowing every participant to decide which information they want to share.
Users can forward relevant messages to CC or set selected senders--such as schools, clubs, travel providers or sports organizations--to share updates automatically. CC can then identify important dates, add them to a shared calendar and create tasks for the household.
For example, appointment confirmations, school notices and activity reminders can be organized into a central plan without requiring family members to manually enter every detail.
From planning to practical support
CC is also designed to assist with selected household tasks. It can help prepare permission and registration forms, create school-supply lists, develop weekly meal plans, estimate travel times between activities, and generate shared documents or spreadsheets.
When information is incomplete, the assistant can ask follow-up questions and retain approved group details to make future support more relevant. Google says the system runs in an isolated cloud environment powered by Gemini and its agent framework, Antigravity.
The experiment is currently available to eligible US adults using personal Gmail accounts. Existing users are expected to receive upgrade invitations, while new users can register interest in access.
As AI becomes more collaborative and permission-based, tools like CC may help transform household administration from a collection of scattered messages into a more coordinated digital routine.
