Google is bringing a new wave of voice-first AI features to its productivity apps, adding conversational tools to Gmail, Docs and Keep. The update is designed to make everyday digital tasks faster, more natural and more intuitive.
In Gmail, users can now interact with a Gemini-powered assistant by asking questions about their inbox instead of relying only on manual search. The experience includes a live transcript, making the conversation easier to follow in real time.
Docs Live helps users turn spoken ideas into written drafts. By describing what they want to create, they can get a first version of text generated with support from information across Gmail, Drive, chat and the web. Keep Live, meanwhile, turns note-taking into a more fluid process, allowing users to capture ideas by voice and even build practical lists such as ingredients for a recipe.
The new tools are available in English on iOS and Android. Gmail Live is included for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra customers, while Docs Live and Keep Live are offered to Google AI Pro and Ultra users. Google also plans to extend the features to Workplace Business customers soon.
The rollout reflects Google's broader push toward conversational computing across its ecosystem, following earlier voice and dictation updates in other products. As AI becomes more embedded in daily workflows, these tools could help shape a more seamless future for work and personal organization.
