Enterprise AI startup Ema has raised $77 million in a Series B funding round to expand its platform of coordinated AI agents for business operations. The investment brings the company's total funding to $140 million.
The round was led by Bengaluru-based venture firm Creaegis, with continued participation from Accel, Section 32 and Prosus. Founded in 2023 by former Google and Coinbase executive Surojit Chatterjee and former Okta executive Souvik Sen, Ema is building what it describes as AI employees: agent-based systems designed to manage multi-step workflows across HR, IT and finance.
AI agents for connected business operations
Rather than replacing existing corporate tools immediately, Ema integrates with a company's current software environment. Its technology coordinates tasks across applications, helping teams automate complex processes that traditionally require several platforms and manual handoffs.
The platform can draw on more than 150 AI models, including advanced proprietary and open-source options. Ema focuses on the orchestration layer, combining model capabilities with enterprise integrations and specialized workflow knowledge.
The company reports more than 50 active enterprise agreements and over one million active business users. Its customer base includes NTT DATA, Hitachi, ADP, PwC, Google, KPMG, Wipro and Microsoft. Ema says it has processed more than five million actions and queries through its platform.
Over the past two years, the startup says its revenue has grown 50-fold, while total contract bookings have exceeded $150 million. More than 90% of customers have reportedly expanded their use beyond an initial deployment, adopting the platform across additional workflows.
Outcome-based model and global expansion
Ema prices its services according to completed tasks and business outcomes rather than user seats or AI token consumption. The company says this approach aligns its growth with measurable operational value for customers.
With nearly 200 employees across Mountain View, Bengaluru, London and Vancouver, Ema plans to use the new capital to strengthen sales and market expansion. After concentrating on the United States and Europe, the company is preparing to reach organizations across Asia-Pacific, South America and parts of the Middle East.
As AI agents become more capable of connecting systems and completing end-to-end work, platforms such as Ema could help shape a more adaptive, outcome-focused future for enterprise technology.
