Customize Your Calling Card on Android: A New Feature Unveiled

Android users can now personalize their caller ID with a new feature in the Google Phone app, allowing them to design custom calling cards. This upgrade aligns with Apple's Contact Poster feature found on iOS, enhancing the user experience.

Enhancements to Google's Calling Cards

Last year, Google introduced Calling Cards, enabling users to create full-screen cards for individual contacts, complete with images and personalized text. Initially, these cards were only visible on the user's device when receiving calls, but the latest update allows users to share their own cards when making calls.

With this new functionality, users can choose a photo and incorporate customizable text, including various fonts and colors. When you call someone, they will see your personalized card, and you have the option to share it with everyone or limit it to your contacts.

Once the update is available, users will receive a prompt on the Home tab of the Google Phone app inviting them to "Create your calling card." By selecting Get Started, users can link their Google Account, choose a photo, and add text, while also deciding who will receive the calling card. Additionally, users can modify or delete their custom calling card anytime through Settings > Calling card.

In comparison, Apple users have enjoyed a similar feature since the release of iOS 17, which allows them to send customized calling cards to other iPhone users. Apple's Contact Poster offers an array of design options, including photos, Memojis, monograms, and various text and background customizations.
