AI security startup AIR has emerged from stealth with $50 million in funding to help companies examine the tools, add-ons, and plugins used by AI agents. The company says this layer is becoming essential as agents take on broader roles inside enterprise systems.
Founded by Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, AIR developed a platform that can detect AI agents across an organization, review the skills and components they rely on, and stop them from using unapproved services or external content. The company also offers a marketplace of vetted add-ons designed for safer deployment.
The startup says the new capital came through two rounds completed within weeks of each other, with Sequoia leading the first and Greenoaks leading the second. AIR reports more than 20 customers, including large enterprises, with strong interest from finance and pharmaceutical sectors.
According to the company, its system continuously checks agent tools for changes in behavior or package integrity, and it currently filters out a notable share of online add-ons it reviews. AIR positions this approach as a continuous verification model for the fast-growing ecosystem around AI agents.
With about 40 employees, AIR plans to use the new funding to hire researchers and expand its presence in the U.S. and Europe. As AI agents become more autonomous, security platforms like this could shape a more trusted foundation for the next generation of enterprise automation.
