X is introducing a stricter system to protect original creators and reduce content theft across its platform. The company says its latest approach is designed to stop users from reposting others' work while trying to benefit from engagement and monetization.
According to X, the newest version of its Grok AI model can identify duplicated posts at a much higher rate than before. The platform will also redirect monetized impressions to the original uploader when it detects copied material, including reposted videos and text posts that have been lightly edited with watermarks, intros, or other cosmetic changes.
X says it has already detected 1.5 million stolen posts in its latest review cycle and expects the updated policy to return more than $1 million in creator payouts to the rightful owners. The company is also stepping up efforts to suspend bots faster, since automated accounts often amplify recycled content.
Under the new rules, repeated attempts to bypass the system or to push engagement bait may lead to removal from the creator program. Users who repeatedly ask for follows or replies in exchange for attention can also face account review.
The move reflects a broader shift in social platforms toward rewarding originality and improving trust in digital creativity. As these tools evolve, the future of online publishing may become more transparent, creator-focused, and fair.
