As X introduces this feature, it also phases out X Communities, a member-based community platform that experienced declining engagement. Nikita Bier, X's head of product, highlighted that these custom timelines are particularly effective for topics users are already interested in. Currently, the custom timelines are accessible exclusively to Premium subscribers on iOS, with Android support anticipated in the near future. This feature is available across all Premium subscription tiers.
To utilize the custom feeds, users simply navigate past their "For You" and "Following" tabs, then select the topics they wish to pin to their home tab, with a limit of ten topics for personalization.
