Tesla secures $30 billion in credit facilities, expanding financial flexibility for Cybercab, Optimus robot and Tesla Semi production plans.

Tesla Expands Financing Capacity for Cybercab, Optimus and Semi Growth

Tesla has arranged $30 billion in new credit facilities to strengthen its financial flexibility as it advances production plans for the Cybercab, Optimus humanoid robot and Tesla Semi.

The new financing package includes a $20 billion delayed-draw term loan with a three-year duration, alongside an $8 billion five-year revolving credit facility and a separate $2 billion revolving facility with a 364-day term.

Flexible capital for new production capacity

Tesla indicated that it does not currently expect to use the facilities during 2026. The arrangements nevertheless create additional capacity as the company prepares for major capital spending, projected at no less than $25 billion for the year.

The company is building new manufacturing infrastructure for its next-generation products. Dedicated production sites are being developed for Optimus and Tesla Semi, while the Cybercab program is expected to support Tesla's broader autonomous mobility ambitions.

With more than $40 billion in cash and investments at the end of the second quarter, Tesla is pairing existing resources with expanded financing options. This approach could help accelerate the transition from prototype-stage innovation to larger-scale manufacturing across electric transport, robotics and autonomous services.

As these platforms move toward industrial scale, Tesla's investment strategy may shape how mobility and robotics ecosystems are built in the years ahead.
