Taylor Fritz came close to clinching victory at the Nexo Dallas Open on Monday, narrowly losing to Ben Shelton in a thrilling final match. While the trophy went to Shelton, the spotlight on style was firmly on Fritz. Since joining forces with BOSS in 2024, Fritz has significantly elevated his menswear aesthetic, showcasing a head-to-toe look from the renowned German brand that embodies the future of tennis fashion.

"I've never worn a BOSS outfit that didn't impress me," said the 28-year-old Fritz prior to the match. On the court, he donned a stylish beige and black ensemble subtly featuring the brand's logo, a fitted quick-dry T-shirt paired with tailored stretch shorts. "Some on-court outfits can be overly flashy," he remarked. "This one strikes the right balance. I love the fabric and how it feels. It's clean and timeless."

Fritz's playing style is equally "clean and classic." He broke into the Top 10 in 2022, propelled by a powerful serve, precise forehand, and impressive endurance that once placed him as high as world No. 4. Despite his ascent in the rankings, he maintains a focused and humble demeanor, making him an ideal ambassador for BOSS.

This marks the second consecutive year BOSS has collaborated with the Dallas Open, and the brand made its presence unmistakable. Fritz's image, complete with the now-iconic BOSS headband, adorned banners throughout the Ford Center at The Star. A BOSS pop-up store inside the venue featured a collection of sleek, neutral-toned activewear that mirrored his on-court attire. The style team from Men's Health tested the pieces and confirmed that you don't need a 130-mph serve to pull them off, praising the clean quarter-zips and stylish sweats featuring the Dallas Open logo. As spring approaches, these versatile layers are sure to remain fashionable long after the tennis season concludes.

Fritz's fashion sense has evolved alongside his partnership with BOSS, transitioning from tight jeans to looser trousers and embracing more monochromatic styles. "Coming from San Diego, I used to dress in a more skater or streetwear style," he explained. "Now, I opt for a more classic and elevated look, which I believe suits me much better."

When asked if dressing better has impacted his game, he replied, "I wish I could say yes. Probably not. But it definitely boosts my confidence. When I feel I look good, it helps."

With a long season ahead, including another US Open campaign, Fritz is ready for the challenges to come. "There are many players with distinct styles," he noted when discussing well-dressed competitors. "I have to mention my fellow BOSS ambassador, Matteo [Berrettini]. And I think Frances [Tiafoe] has a great sense of style too."

Although he didn't secure the win in Dallas, Fritz exudes confidence and is poised for future successes.
