Spotify users on eligible iPhones can now ask Siri to play music and other audio without adding "on Spotify" to their requests. The feature is available with iOS 27 when Apple Intelligence is enabled.
Listeners can name a song, album, podcast or audiobook, request a type of music, or ask Siri to start Spotify features such as DJ. Voice commands can also resume podcasts, search a personal library, offer recommendations and create an AI-powered Prompted Playlist.
Siri can learn which music app a person regularly uses and direct audio requests to Spotify automatically. The update is available globally outside the European Union for users with an iPhone 15 Pro or later.
By making voice commands more conversational, the change could help make hands-free listening simpler and more personalized.
