Indian startup Scimplify has raised $25 million to expand its AI-powered specialty materials business and build new manufacturing partnerships. The investment round was led by Hitachi Ventures, with Henkel and Teknor Apex joining existing investors. The company says its total equity funding has now reached $80 million.
Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Scimplify develops chemical production processes and coordinates manufacturing through a network of more than 500 partner facilities. Its platform, Scinode, helps identify production routes and suitable factories while managing quality and regulatory requirements.
From research to production
Scimplify says some projects have moved from customer requirements to delivered materials in about two months, compared with the 12 to 18 months such work can typically take. Its scientists and engineers develop processes at research facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad before transferring them to partner factories for larger-scale production.
The company serves more than 1,000 customers and has delivered products to over 40 countries. Around 90% of its current manufacturing takes place in India, but it plans to expand its production network in the United States and Japan. The latest funding includes about $7.5 million for U.S. expansion and $2 million for further development of Scinode.
Scimplify is also developing materials such as tungsten derivatives made from scrap and rare-earth products. These efforts aim to give manufacturers additional sourcing options for materials used in sectors including electronics and energy.
By connecting AI-led research with manufacturing capacity, Scimplify's approach could help shorten the path from material discovery to dependable commercial supply.
