Roblox Expands AI Game Creation and Cross-Platform Play

Roblox expands AI-powered game creation, cross-platform publishing, and creator payment tools, signaling a more open future for user-made games and digital play.

Roblox Expands AI Game Creation and Cross-Platform Play

Roblox is taking a major step toward a more open creator economy with new tools unveiled at its annual Roblox Developer Conference. The platform is broadening its generative AI feature, Build, so users can create games with natural language prompts in more regions, including Serbia and Singapore, while also gaining desktop access, a larger asset library, and more iterative control.

The company said a new scene-generation feature is also planned for later this year, with support extending into Roblox Studio. Alongside that, Roblox is improving how games are built and experienced by adding stronger NPC capabilities, including the ability for non-player characters to help playtest games.

Roblox is also pushing toward wider distribution. Creators will soon be able to publish games as separate apps on mobile, PC, and consoles, while browser-based access through a link is expected by year-end. This shift reflects a broader strategy: making creations easier to build and simpler to share beyond the platform itself.

On the player side, the platform is introducing a moving Friends chat tab with voice typing support, an upgraded discovery system tailored to different age groups, and offline mode options for games in areas with weaker connectivity. Roblox is also expanding its engine with 2D game creation tools, including orthographic camera support and direct sprite-sheet import.

For creators, Roblox is adding financial tools through Roblox Wallet, designed to help eligible users access earnings more directly, with Airwallex supporting U.S. users aged 18 and older. A Roblox Card is also planned for next year. With creators having earned more than $5 billion since 2013, Roblox is clearly deepening its focus on scalable creation, distribution, and monetization. The next phase could help shape a more flexible future for interactive entertainment.
